Children in Years 1–6, from enthusiastic young writers to those looking to strengthen their writing skills and confidence.
These workshops are not just for children preparing for entrance exams. They welcome writers of varying abilities, provided they can read and write at the expected level for their year group.
Please note:
Year 1 workshops begin from February of Year 1 onwards.
For July and August workshops, select the year group your child will enter in September.
At the start of the workshop, children receive one of our bespoke Yellowbird booklets, filled with structured exercises and writing tasks to complete individually and in groups.
Each day, children develop and produce a piece of writing and receive timely feedback, helping them recognise their strengths and apply new techniques as they progress.
At the end of the workshop, children take home their completed, marked booklets. The detailed feedback provides parents with valuable insight into what their child is doing well and where they can continue to improve. There is also an opportunity to speak to the teacher at pick-up.
Booking: Select your preferred date, venue and year group, then complete your booking and payment online. Further workshop details will be emailed a few days before the start date.
Our workshops develop the essential skills of effective writing, including:

Writing is similar to the opening of a chess game: the pieces must be put in place at the start. The key to successful stories and descriptions lies in structure and planning. Both of these are at the heart of what we do in Creative Writing, helping children develop the skills and confidence to bring their ideas to life.
