Children who will be sitting their 7+ exams this year
Children should be registered through the website by booking and paying for the session.
On the day, children will sign in and are then taken to the exam room. We tend to have anywhere from 40 – 100 children sitting these mock exams. The environment in which they sit the papers will closely mimic the real thing, be this a hall or large classroom.
The marked papers, sent to you within a week after sitting the paper, provides invaluable first-hand insight into performance. Feedback will be given on areas requiring additional attention and support. Our mocks will also allow parents to see their child’s results in the context of other candidates going for similar schools at 7+. Papers are returned with a student number (for anonymity) and cohort list. This will give you an idea of where your child might be placed outside their school year group. Yellowbird’s Snapshot Mocks offer both parents and students independently-marked updates at key moments during the exam year.
Our marking system means that our mocks are a good snapshot of ability for independent schools – regardless of the level of the schools they are attempting. The idea is, following the feedback from the mock, that you work on only the areas that need it! A targeted approach becomes much less stressful for both parent and child.
Our mock exams do not mirror any one particular exam, but are divided into sections that help you assess and identify which areas are on track and where support is needed. They are designed to give a snapshot of where your child is at and give a clear idea on where your child may need improvement.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Once committed to a course/workshop/exam (by completion of an online booking), a contract exists between you and Yellowbird Education. You agree to the following terms:
Just like a real school exam, our Snapshot Mocks are held in an exam environment under exam conditions. Children will sit papers in Spelling, Dictation, English, Mental Maths and Maths with a short break in the middle. These mock exams are carefully set at the correct level for the time in the academic year and are a great way to boost confidence and assess any areas for development.
