Children who will be sitting their 11+ exams this year

How it works

Children should be registered through the website by booking and paying for the session.

On the day children will sign in and are then sent to the exam room/hall. We tend to have around 40 to 100 children sitting these mock exams and the environment in which they sit the papers will closely mimic the real thing.

Children will sit papers in Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, with a short break between.

Once the mock exam is complete, children will take their questions papers home. Their answer sheets will then be marked and extensive feedback given. Marked answer sheets and feedback forms are returned to parents via email. You will also receive an anonymous cohort results table which will enable you to identify where your child stands in comparison with others who sat the mock. Most of our students are targeting the same/similar schools.

Important information

Our mock exams do not mirror any one particular exam, but are divided into sections that help you assess and identify which areas are on track and where support is needed. They are designed to give a snapshot of where your child is at and give a clear idea on where your child may need improvement.

Description

Our Reasoning mock exams are run the same way as a school exam, from registration through to dismissal. They are held in an exam environment. The Reasoning mocks are combined papers incorporating elements of Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This is a reflection of the recent trend in moving towards combined discipline assessments, particularly true of leading exam boards. The papers are divided into separate Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning tests and further divided into individually timed sections. These are useful for children sitting London Consortium Exams, St Paul’s Girls, Wimbledon High and are good practice for ISEB testing or any schools who do reasoning assessments.

These mocks aim to expose children to a variety of things that they will be exposed to in a Reasoning exam, enabling them to familiarise themselves with the process of sitting exams in unfamiliar surroundings and interacting with new adults and children. Key elements of our mock exams are aimed at introducing children to the combined discipline assessments appearing in one paper and efficiently completing the tasks in tightly restricted time conditions.
We advise how best to approach the multiple-choice structure of answering questions and how to complete computer marked answer sheets accurately. These often-unfamiliar methods are carefully explained to enable children to understand what is required of them in a reasoning exam, thus allowing them to concentrate and focus on the content of the actual exam questions.
